Minister Joe O’Brien welcomes funding for Coláiste Ghlór na Mara

Minister for Community Development, Charities and Integration, Joe O’Brien TD, has welcomed the announcement that Coláiste Ghlór na Mara has been awarded the maximum funding of €10,000 for the Rath na Rothaíochta (Cycling for Success) project in the school under the new pilot programme focused on physical activity in teaching and learning.

Coláiste Ghlór na Mara is one of 24 schools funded under the new physical activity pilot programme to support teachers and school leaders in the integration of physical activity in teaching and learning. The pilot programme will run over the school year 2024/2025

Welcoming the announcement, Joe O’Brien TD said:

“Ì want to congratulate Coláiste Ghlór na Mara on their successful application under the new physical activity pilot programme as there were a significant number of applications to the scheme. The programme illustrates the many ways that physical activity can be used a means of delivering teaching and learning outcomes. I look forward to seeing the Cycling for Success project being rolled out in the school next year.”
