Minister Joe O’Brien Announces Town Centre First Grants for Lusk

Minister of State and local TD Joe O’Brien has today announced grants for Lusk from his Department of Rural and Community Development, after launching the Town Centre First Plan in Lusk in May.

This funding will support pre-development works for the projects and support costs including detailed design, planning, assessments and other development costs.

• €50,000 has been awarded for the development of the “Skatepark at Kilhedge Lane” and “Central Parks” in the town.

• €27,000 has also been allocated for the development of a Farmers Market.

Announcing the funding, Minister O’Brien said:

"People in Lusk contributed hugely to what is a very impressive blueprint for the development of the town. The important thing now is delivery and I hope these grants signal to the community that I and my Department are serious about bringing positive change to the town.

“In May, I launched the plan in the Cultural Centre in Lusk where I heard about the significance of support for the development of the town. Today I am thrilled to be able to further support the town, through the funding of these projects.

“I look forward to seeing these exciting projects and initiatives progress and make Lusk a better place to live for everyone.”
