Minister Joe O’Brien welcomes funding of €700,000 for Greenway development in Fingal

Over half a billion euro of funding has been announced for national roads and greenways through Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) in 2024.

This funding will allow Fingal County Council to access funding to develop the proposed Greenway outlined in the Fingal Development Plan.

Welcoming the announcement, Joe O’Brien TD said:

“The funding made available today to Fingal County Council is a huge step in the development of the proposed Greenway.

“This funding will allow for improved walking and cyclying infrastructure along Fingal’s coast, which is what the Green Party promised to deliver. I look forward to seeing how this allocation helps to develop this exciting project.

This Greenway allocation forms part of the overall Programme for Government commitment of €360 million per annum dedicated funding to walking and cycling which will offer a safe, sustainable and healthier alternative to private car use for those who can avail of it.
