Announcing the new initiative, Minister O’Brien said:

During the past 2 years the Pandemic has really brought out a spirit of camaraderie across towns and villages everywhere and we discovered the real meaning of ‘community’.

That’s why I am delighted to welcome the new ‘Community Centres Investment Fund 2022’.

“€15 million will be made available which will support the refurbishment and upgrade of community buildings across the country.

I would encourage community groups to come together to facilitate an upgrade or facelift for their local community centre by applying for funding later this month.  Funding can also be provided for financial support to carry out fire safety or other necessary repair works.

A timetable and guidelines for applying for the various funding programmes has been published today and can be viewed HERE.
