Review of Fingal’s Tree strategy

9th July, 2019

I’m very glad to say that at my first full Fingal County Council meeting last night my motion to review Fingal’s Tree strategy was agreed. I’m looking forward to a vibrant consultation process. I will be pushing for extra resources for high-value trees in town centres to be retained where possible and genuine consideration of all alternative options to felling mature trees.

In the picture below you can see the recent situation in Skerries and one from O’Connell St yesterday where even larger trees are accommodated and planned for.

Also FYI a link to DLR tree strategy which has 7 pages on the multiple benefits of trees.

Tree's form a key element of the county’s infrastructure and are amongst the most important features in our towns, villages and rural landscapes.
